Colorado Launches Marijuana Tourism, Hoping Other States Will Follow!

Amendment 64 Implementation Task Force is trying to figure out how to keep out-of-staters from “smurfing,” while tourists sample Colorado’s world class medical marijuana smorgasbord. “Smurfing” is a term referring to people who capitalize by shopping store-to-store, accumulating large quantities of medicinal herbs and then smuggle it into other less progressive states, which haven’t seen the wisdom of legalizing this noble weed yet.

It’s no secret that prohibition fails all 9-quadrants and that one of the biggest problems prohibition created is the dreaded black market. History repeatedly proves, whatever people demand, someone will supply, especially in America. Now the question before the task force is, “Whose issue is this really?” Currently there are 18 states and the District of Columbia, that recognize the benefits of medical marijuana, plus 10 other states aligned to follow suit.

Should Colorado even care about medical marijuana opponents who fail to see the light? Fact is your either part of the problem or part of the solution. Backward states that continue to support prohibition will have to continue to waste tax payer’s money enforcing it.
Colorado voted against prohibition of medical marijuana. Clearly, the best solution to “smurfing” is for these opponent states that are concerned about it, to get their heads out of the sand and get with the program. Meanwhile, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Utah border patrols will have an All-Points-Bulletin (APB) out for short blue people wearing stocking hats and traveling with excessively large luggage.
